Practical exams require a crane and an examiner, so most Alaskans plan to sit them in a larger hub such as Anchorage, Fairbanks or the central Kenai Peninsula, or at an event their employer arranges. Check the certifying body's schedule well ahead, especially if you need a flight or a ferry to get there.
